That pretty much describes my reaction to Adam Sandler's stuff as
well, and also why I liked "The Wedding Singer".  I dislike his normal
smarmy stuff, but in that film he actually appropriately angry and
bitter.

Of course the fact that my wife and I were watching it in the highly
stressful run-up to our wedding probably helped.
