You can also, I discovered, drop the pdf into the latest version of 
Mobipocket reader and have that software convert it to a prc file.

It works OK. The formatting is a little rocky in places, and the 
character set has some quirks, but at least it drops from 3 Mb down to a 
more reasonable 600 kb. You can also then read the resulting prc file in 
a variety of ebook reader applications.

Maybe I will find out if Sigler can write.
