It's a fairly common glitch to substitute sibling for offspring, mentally.
Though normally not quite like that.  I've seen it happen several times
by severalpeople.  My mother, for example, sometimes would refer to my
by her brother's name.  And be very annoyed with herself when people went
"dhur, whaaaa?".

Of course, then there's Sack's "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat".
(  see "hat" thread over there ---->  )  That's somewhat less common.
