Premiered April 2nd 1968 in D.C., ..... way past 2001 now... and the
film now looks like a future that may be 100 years from now.
The novel took almost another two months.....
odd.... Clarke , followed with Rendezvous with Rama, a better novel,
but with a similar theme about an enigmatic alien civilization.
(But then Kubrick drew abstractly on Childhood's End and City and the
Star for the film, something usually not mentioned.)
