FUTURES FROM NATURE Gee, Henry
11/1/2007
One hundred SF short-shorts from NATURE.
I'd recommend this but do not read it at one sitting like I did.
SPOOK COUNTRY Gibson, William
8/1/2007
Shadowy organizations conspire to stick it to BushCo. Not really SF,
although it might have been marketed that way.
I don't seem to have Gibson receptors in my brain.
THUNDERER Gilman, Felix
The struggle for justice in a vast and possibly infinite
fantasy city.
I think this was Gilman's first book. It's a bit uneven (As
I recall, you could pitch the first 50 pages without hurting the book
at all) but still worth a look,
IN WAR TIMES Goonan, Kathleen Ann
4/26/2007
Alternate history, WWII and quantum come together to produce a
novel that I don't recall much about at all.
JUMPER: GRIFFIN'S STORY Gould, Steven
8/1/2007
Our young hero can tele****t. Bad men want to kill him. Their
fervor is such that they have no time for luxuries like characterization
or motivation.
By far, Gould's worst book to date.
DARK WARRIOR RISING: A NOVEL OF NIFLHEIM Greenwood,Ed 9/18/2007
An enslaved human and a rogue Dark Elf are forced to ally.
Meh.
END OF THE WORLD BLUES Grimwood, Jon Courtenay
9/25/2007
This is either a time-spanning SF novel or a modern day noir story
with a crazy girl in. I lean towards the second interpretation.
9TAIL FOX Grimwood,Jon Courtenay
5/1/2007
A dead policeman is forced to solve his own murder.
I am not entirely certain Grimwood's timeline makes sense.
THE LISTENERS Gunn, James
This is a reprint of a collection of novellas about SETI.
The thing that struck me about this book is how few players
they are in a Gunn universe. As I recall, the same was true in THE
IMMORTALS and whatever his more recent SETI novel was called.
BLACK MAGIC WOMAN Gustains, Justin
1/1/2008
The descendent of one of the characters in DRACULA continues the
good fight against spooks and monsters. This first entry has him dealing
with what seems to be one family's ancient curse.
Also meh.
