Supposedly he is very popular in Germany, or was at least into the
70s (or that's the claim I read in a recent review of the dozens
of Edgar Wallace "krimini" movies made in Germany from the 60s on).
BTW, how does he fall under the 100-year rule? IIRC, he died working in
Hollywood on the initial idea for King Kong, so that puts him well under
the
limit.
