Can't help with Wallace, but this reminds me of the American novelist
Winston Churchill (1871-1947). I'd stumbled across a list of annual
bestsellers (top ten each year, organized by decade[1]), and Churchill
is all over these lists from 1901-1915. One of his books stayed on
the list for two years (1st place then 3rd place).
Can anyone say more about him or his works?
