	A first novel about a rock musician who finds himself caught
up in the struggle against the formation of a world government,

	This was unfortunately tainted for me by the author's credulous
acceptance of Jared Diamond's twitterings. At the same time, it was a
novel about a rock star where it mattered that he was a rock star, which
is more than I can say for KEEPING IT REAL.

	This was a first novel and I am curious to see what his second 
novel is like.

GENIUS SQUAD	            Jinks, Catherine	

	Two related books about a bright young man, the disfunctional 
adults who want to put his intelligence to work for him and the boy's
friends and allies.

	It felt a bit like the author wanted to write in a universe with
super-villains with being quite able to suspend her own disbelief. Jinks
also likes to signal moral status with physical attributes so in this 
universe, the primary cause of tooth decay is evil.
