No, the Cosa Nostra did not play an im****tant part in the discovery of
mathematics.
But the behavior of dice that *aren't* loaded will follow a certain
pattern - one that mathematics has made clear - whether or not the
people playing at dice know of this.
The name "Girolamo Cardano" might bear Googling in this connection.
