It's also, in my opinion, a _very_ good illustration of what a live-action
Mage: The Ascension campaign might want to aspire to.
(I like all three books in that semi-duplex trilogy, but I can understand
some people not wanting the mashups that occur in the third one. But come
on, how cool can you GET with the stuff the old black lady spirit guide
gets
them to do? Plus the fact that one of the characters who WOULD be a
protagonist
if he were allowed to be spends much of the book dead and being towed
around
by the others...)
