I don't see it as screwing it up...In previous novel it's explained as 
males are sorcerers and females are witches...you don't see male witches 
or female sorcerers, although in the case of Paige and Lucas, they can 
each do spells that belong to the other.  I really don't see what is so 
ridiculous about that.
