A little weird: after deciding to try out the Amazon Kindle in the hopes
sparing my creaking book shelves, I saw "Fast Times at Fairmont High"
available as a Kindle "book". I gladly plunked down the $0.50 Amazon
charged for it--I really enjoyed the story the first time I read it.
But if my poor brain does not fail me here, this is not the original,
but yet another revision. I detail what I thought to be the first 3
versions of this story some a couple of years ago:

The progression as I saw it was: "Fast Times at Fairmont High" ->
"Synthetic Serendipity" -> _Rainbows End_. And now there is "Fast Times
at Fairmont High" again, but somewhat reworked to remove stuff that was
in _RE_ and to sync it with various details of the same.
Does this presage a new Vinge book in the _RE_ world?
