I just finished reading Matter this morning (didn't cost me - I got it
from
the library...), and I loved it. Great story, lots of surprises,
including
the ending. Big, escapist stuff.
It's made me want to return to the early Culture novels which I read some
years ago and have more or less forgotten.
I love Banks' sf but can't get on with his non-sf. Anyone read "A Song of
Stone"? I think lesser-known semi-sf novel, and very bleak, but good.
