The major magazines, Fictionwise, and a few other places list the
nominees, and often have links for the free version. I hit the usual
suspects right after the lists are published and then a few weeks later.
IIRC, someone posted a link to a consolidator website for this year that
was helpful.
After the fact, Fictionwise sells the stories they have rights to as
bundles of various types.
This year, John Scalzi had an interesting twist. He and three other
authors offered 4 of the 5 novel nominees free, IF you were a registered
member of the WSFC. Basically, for the $50 registration fee, you could
get the 4 novels. Since I had read a couple of them, and am not a 'fan',
I didn't register, but it's a clever thing to do. You can read about it
