	There's some hardcopy outputs in 'The Cage', set around 13 
years before the main Original Series continuity, although there's 
also various demonstrations of the record-tapes being viewed on the 
various bridge monitors.  Monitors are used again for looking at 
pages (including what looks suspiciously like a typed-in torm) by 
'Where No Man Has Gone Before'.  

	In 'The Conscience Of The King' Kirk looks at two voice print 
analyses on what seem to be good-sized sheets of paper, although there 
he's trying to find emotional certainty about the results rather than 
what Spock, the computer, and probably his intellectual side are able 
to tell him before starting.  And he gives a paper to Anton Karidian 
for him to read a speech.  

	After that, mostly people just got audio readouts or looked 
at the blinking lights to recognize what was going on, since changing 
the overhead monitors was more expensive and matte shots were a pain 
to work with.  Sometimes the little triangular prism monitors show a 
schematic of, say, the Klingon-Romulan ****ps.  


	(A casual Google search on the closed captioning transcripts 
suggests that 'The Conscience of the King' is the only time they talk 
in the Original Series about paper as in paper.  There's a reference 
to the newspapers in 'The City on the Edge of Forever', but that's a 
scene in the 20th century; the other references are to flypaper and 
to paper as a metaphorical object to be pushed.)
