     True enough that only one signature is required.  But it doesn't 
follow that the rest are irrelevant.  The link below contains the 
text of Pope Pius XII's infallible declaration of the Assumption of 
Mary, and if you read paragraphs 7--12 you will note that he was 
indeed attentive to the petitions that had been sent to him on the 
subject.
