[I posted a message like this to rasf.science by accident earlier.]
I recently read Helix by Eric Brown. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the
book, a few of my gripes being unoriginal revelations, severe
Ringworld-envy, cardboard characters, a Vile Evil Oppressive Church With
No Theology Worth Mentioning and severe plotholes.
It was not mindbogglingly _bad_... Just not very good either. Is Helix a
good example of his work or should I give him another chance?
