So did you manage to sleep through the ~5000 pages of _The Neutronium 
Alchemist_ etc? The UK (3 volume) versions are the only books I've had 
which are a) too thick to hold comfortably, and b) are shedding pages, 
having exceeded the MMPB bookbinder's art.
