Well, I read them in the late 90s, but they were both well older than
that. I would say that they would have been from sometime older than
the last twenty years

I don't remember really any details about the space opera one. The
only real detail that I remember about the "vampire" one that I didn't
mention was that it was first person narration from the perspective of
the "vampire" but there were other chapters that were first person
from other characters viewpoints, which I thought was strage at the
time. I don't remember whether the perspectives regularly switched
over, or whether it was just a couple of chapters from another
viewpoint.
