In case you ever need extra reassurance, I'm with you on _The Year of
our War_. It's an interesting, reasonably well-written debut, but
despite the cover quotes I was neither blistered nor stunned by it.
The last debut novel I can remember raising stunned blisters was
Raphael Carter's _The Fortunate Fall_.
