: Cliche though it is, the details of the reveal are there to see from the

Yep. Actually, when I read the first book, I thought to myself, "oh good,
he's not going to use that cliche". Especially given some of the bits
in the prlogue about the nature of historical events. But apparently my
subconscious was mulling it over, since it later just came to me, oh, foo.
I didn't pick up gur pyhr va uvf anzr, oddly enough, but I think what did
me in was gur ovg orgjrra Tnvhf naq Vfnan nybat gur yvarf bs "ur'f lbhe
<fvtavspnag cnhfr> arcurj... evvvvvvtug". And then mulling that around
a bit with other clues, such as "unir lbh pbzr sbe gur obl?".
Actually... I don't know why I'm treating it as a spoiler, but since
I *am* slow about such things, and i found it fun to notice... well.
I suppose just saying there's a spoiler is a spoiler. I mean...
gur svsgu obbx'f gvgyr vf n qrnq tvinjnl, so I doubt it's meant to be
a puzzle. But still. I'm slow enough on such things it was fun to
hve my subconscious puzzle it out, just as if it were one. A rarity,
and therefore precious.
Another rare pleasure for me was, V svtherq bhg jub Svqryrhf jnf
cbfvat nf va gur guveq naq sbhegu obbxf orsber gur rkcyvpvg erirny.
And isn't *that* a bit of a break from cliche; I must admit I don't
quite see where he's going with that one, but geez there's no way
that'll come back to bite anybody in the arse, eh?
I guess my point is, there are probably *several* puzzles there that
are just my speed. Neither too hard, nor too easy. YMMV.
And, sigh, doubtless several I'm too dense to see. Fhpu nf
jub be jung gur Pnar jrer ehaavat sebz. Q'bu.
( As an aside, I think somebody commented that they are annoyed when I
ebg13 individual phrases in a sentence. But hey, I figure, just
ebg13 the whole paragraph and read out the reveals. No biggie.
Nevertheless I suppose I shouldn't do it. But it's so *fun*! )
