One of the novel's bad guys, an Irish-American gangster/lawyer, utilizes 
a particular Indo-European (possibly Keltic and/or Greek, although I'm 
not sure) mystical tradition, wherein he achieves long-term psychic 
domination over a person by having sex with him (or her).

What's that called? It's been several years since I read that novel, and 
I can't remember the word, although I will almost certainly be able to 
recognize it once I see it.


(Note that "Intervention" was originally published as 2 shorter novels...)
