: *Let's talk about sophisticated use of water power in fantasy.
In Avatar, the northern water tribe uses waterbending for their entire
infrastructure, both civil and military. Including use of ice
for archtecture.
In the <Mumble>'s Fury series, waterben... um, watercrafting is
used for almost all medical needs, and is incredibly effective, to the
point where very badly injured people on a battlefield can be rushed
to a MASH, and then be put back on the front lines, in under an hour;
this is often tactically im****tant, and loss of medical personell can
be militarily cripling, and not just interms of morale. This also has
interesting implications for military training methods. It's also used
for cosmetic surgery, and shape****fting. Powerful watercrafters usually
look like they're in their 20s, right up until they keel over of old age.
Unless of course, they *want* to send out that "distinguished elder" vibe.
