I think that exercise might be a good idea. Get used to a regular gym
session where all the pain is gone the next morning. Try to make it a
regular habit so I would continue on with it after the loop stopped.

Besides, some physical changes seem to carry over. I've heard opinions
that playing the piano with any skill can't be done with untrained
hands. The piano practice is as much "gym work" for the hands as it is
learning the notes and timing, etc.
