Which brings up another point. What day would you choose for this to
happen on?

I'd want a Friday just after a payday, to maximise the available cash.
Summer time, to increase the possible activities (I'm not into skiing)
and to minimise the clothing. Good weather would be a plus as well.

Friday, so I can hit my favourite retro DJ night.

Step one would be to call in sick for the day, then explore the
possibilities.

For me, that works out to be Jan 16, 2009 as the next optimal day (given
that the weather is a lucky dip).
