Reminds me of a similar question I once thought of. Say you were told you 
could be given bodily immortality at any point just by asking. The thing
is, 
your body will stay *exactly* the same as how it is at that point. Same 
haircut, same minor complaints, same problems. If you have a small cancer 
you didn't know about, it'll stay but it will never get bigger or smaller.

If you develop an itch as you step into the immortalising machine, you'll 
have that itch forever.

What do you do? Work out for 6 months? Get lasik? Risk your whatever
medical 
conditions you have now gettting worse?
