By Groundhog Day 1993, Perl 4 was out, as was the Camel
book (and I was using it). LW was working on Perl 5. Python had
been out for 2 years. Ruby I'll concede - work would not start on it
for
another 3 weeks, and mp3 was a couple years in the future.

But I *was* downloading Perl to my SunOS (a *nix) box over a high
speed connection at that time - using FTP and Telnet. I just wasn't
doing it at home. I did have a Slackware box at home.
As for a DOS PC, by '93 most Windows users were running
Windows 3.1.1, and NT was around the corner.
