They're descended from whites.  They're phenotypically white.  They
represent the continuation of white, indeed and EXPLICITLY white,
culture.  Anyway none of this addresses my point.  With the exception
of the Eagle's captain and the black guy who defects with Walker there
are VERY few non-white named characters in Stirling's work.  And as I
said, the ones who DO appear are often cyphers who only exist to
demonstrate the dominance which white western characters exert over
non white non western characters.
